Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities:
Please contact Hannah at admin@parkerstreetministries.org or 863.682.4544 if you are interested in volunteering individually or wanting to get a group together for a project.

Academic Enrichment Program – Once a week tutoring (individual) – Aug through May

  • We ask for a commitment per semester on a reoccurring schedule of tutoring, preferably once a week.
  • Background check and one-time training are required. Training is held once a month.
  • The available times to volunteer are: 4:15-6:15pm Monday through Thursday.
  • Responsibilities include: tutoring, homework help, and setting a godly example for the kids.
  • Volunteers assist paid staff leaders & should be high school age and up
  • Volunteers to lead extracurricular classes on Fridays are also desired (fitness, sport, cooking, music, etc.)

Summer Camp Program – Once a week tutoring (individual) – June through Aug

  • We ask for a commitment on a reoccurring schedule of tutoring, preferably once a week.
  • Background check and one-time training are required. Training occurs once a month.
  • The available times to volunteer are weekdays, 9am-12pm, through eight weeks of summer.
  • We also need volunteers to lead extracurricular classes during the afternoons of the last four weeks of summer camp, (Ex: cooking, sewing, singing, sports etc.)
  • Responsibilities include: tutoring, academic help, and setting a godly example for the kids.

Bible Study Meals – Wednesday evenings when able (group) – Ongoing

  •  Provide and drop off a simple meal for 60+ people, half are children.

Neighborhood Workdays – Improvement Projects (group of 3 or more) – 1x Project

  • Clean up (i.e. trash pickup, lawn care, weed pullers are AWESOME, etc.)
  • Responding to homes with code violations (i.e. paint, replace windows/doors, re-roof homes, installing lattice, etc.)

Events (larger groups) – 1x Project

  • Neighborhood Parties (i.e. Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Splash, Fall Festival, etc)
  • Gathering toys for Christmas Store or spearheading a toy drive with your organization.
