2nd week of AEP
We had another great week of AEP! All of our teachers are settling well into their roles, as well as William. I couldn’t ask for a better team! We also had a volunteer training this week. We had about 10 people attend. We have about 12-15 volunteers committing, a few of which are neighborhood high schoolers, which is very exciting!
Prayer requests:
I am very encouraged by the quality of volunteers that we have had, but we need more! Ideally we need between 10-12 daily to help our classrooms run effectively. So that is about 40-45 per week. It is my great desire that each of our students would have 20-30 minutes each day of a quality helper for their homework and reading time, which is impossible for the classroom teacher to do this alone. Please join me in this prayer!
Blake
In the classroom, continued use of effective management skills- “not let up” on the kids
His car is broken down
That he would be able to pass the Teacher Certification Test, when he retakes it
For more volunteers to support the work he is doing in his classroom
Nate
Against burn out
For more volunteers to support the work he is doing in his classroom
Nicki
Continued prayers for another part-time job
Increased awareness in her classroom of student homework needs and general flow of the classroom
For more volunteers to support the work she is doing in her classroom
Eina
She begins at PACE on Monday
For more volunteers to support the work she is doing in her classroom
For love/patience/understanding for Samariah who really struggles academically and has a difficult time communicating needs
For a specific volunteer(s) to help Samariah each day with reading and comprehension
William
That he would be well received by the parents and students, and be able to manage well the daily flow of AEP (He is doing great so far!)
Christina
For my transition to part-time: being at the after-school program daily is difficult to let go, but a huge necessity for my family this year!
In Him,
Christina
